Cant pickup a tent?

I built a tent under a tree and didnt like the position. So I packed the tent up and now the tent is under the branches of a pine tree. I cant pick it up and when I try dropping items (to see if it can create a gear option) it eats those aswell. Any suggestions? Thanks :)

Did you try going into 1st person and laying prone next to it? If you move the cursor back and forth like that, it should work.

I just tried that, Doesnt seem to work :(
