New install - how to recover character?

Hey all

Bascially I lost my Dayz install (Retail ARMA2/Retail OA) when my SSD died. Rather than dick around finding disks and suchlike, I just bought CO off steam. I dont suppose theres any way to rescue my old character as im now on a new game? He had some nifty gear, but what they hey.

Also, how do you change the damn fonts/background for this forum? Its next to impossible to read on an ipad with any sort of sunlight.

Due to the fact that the game is bound to the installation key of your game, which with the new version (steam) will be different, I think your character is lost unless you install the old version (retail) of your game.
