XFIRE with DayZ

Recommended Posts

Hello.

Today I had an awesome DayZ experience, so I decided I'd make a recording of it while playing.

Fraps is the only actual recording software I have, but I realised it only takes 30 second videos unless you pay for a better version- bit crap.

I have Xfire and the recordings are pretty good and you can upload them to the website.

So I was wondering is there a way to get xfire working on DayZ?

For some reason the Xfire in-game doesn't work or detected ArmA2 while playing DayZ so I can't use in-game chat or record videos.

If there is no way Xfire can work...

Would anyone recommend a good, free recording program I could use?

Xfire does not detect ArmA 2 CO/OA if you are running a beta client (as in ArmA 2 OA beta). So, it will not work with DayZ since you are required to run a beta build; Xfire in-game does not work with ArmA 2 at all.

Find it strange because I've seen videos of DayZ on the Xfire website, so surely people are recording with it somehow?
