I've also read that loot respawns after 20 minutes of inactivity.Personally, I've looted the same helicopter crash site twice within the hour. Maybe you missed something and it was still there when you came back?All of them that I've found I assumed were previously looted. They either had zombies only of stuff that people discarded or one high end gun in the grass somewhere with no ammo (I assume someone grabbed the ammo but already had the gun).
