No, not like THAT you bunch of perverts.

Player A (who actually is a bandit in the proper sense of the word, not just someone who kills for the sake of it) gets the drop on Player B who is looting a corpse/tent/checking inventory/not paying attention, Player A walks up to Player B and smashes him in the back of the head with the butt of his primary weapon. Player B is knocked out, Player A loots his stuff and scoots off. Player B recovers, is happy he is still alive but then sad as he has no stuff left and its a long way to Tipparary, er Cherno.

Basically a melee type attack only possible when equipped with a rifle, non lethal (but knocks them out, maybe minor blood loss too?).

I like it, but it should be lethal as well, kind of ridiculous that i can't club a zombie with the but of a ten pound rifle, instead i have to drop it to the ground so i can bust out my axe or crowbar because theres no way to cycle between a melee weapon and a rifle for some ass-tastic reason.

It could be implemented in a number of ways -

It does a stun on the first hit, and on the second hit it starts doing damage, perhaps enough to kill a zombie or a man in a single hit, because let's face it. if you're sitting there unable to move and I wanna bash your head in with a rifle stock it's probably not going to take me a second swing to finish you off...

Or alternately the damage it does could be determined by a "charging" mechanic. The longer you hold the button before you release it the more force you swing with and thus the more damage you deal when you land a blow.

Similarly you should be able to pistol-whip a person with a side-arm or smack them with a flashlight.

You could have the flashlight attack be a stun and the other two dealing damage, 1/3 X dmg with the pistol, and X dmg with a rifle. Or the flashlight could deal damage as well, then we might actually have a way to kill the zombie that ends up spawning right on top of you before you can even get to a loot spawn to HOPE theres actually something there to defend yourself with...

An assasination animation and mechanic similar to that in battlefield would be great. Up to the devs if they want it to be lethal or not
