CapnNogrow 1 Posted July 28, 2012 Alright since a lot of posts here are complaints about being killed all the time I decided to make a small tutorial to new players.1. Stealth. Always go stealth before charging in. Especially if you're a solo player. You can sneak past a lot of zombies by proning and moving slowly.2. Don't go into Elektro or Cherno if you don't have to. Fine you're a new player without equipment, then make your way to the supermarket for some starter stuff, food and such. But after that, go north. Berezino is a great place to loot if you can make it all the way up there, it's not very populated with other players. But watch for snipers! They like camping there for a quick kill.3. NEVER run across open fields unless you're absolutely sure it's safe! Same goes with open town squares. Move from cover to cover as much as you can.4. Don't go to the North Western Airfield alone. I recommend being at least four people. Two overwatches, one long range sniper and one mid range sniper with an M16 or something alike that can make a run down to the field in case anything goes wrong. Two people should loot the airfield under sniper support. Be quick, don't make too much noise. Clear the tower first thing you do.5. DON'T ALT+F4. If you do, we all hate you!6. If you come across a crashed helicopter or a deer stand, be very careful. Other players WILL kill you on sight around those. But move slowly, keep down and use your head.7. Last but the most important. If you get spotted by another suvivor and he's hostile don't play John Wayne. Either leg it, or drop down and get into cover. If you can get away do it, but if you have to take him out, remember this is not CoD or Counter Strike, it's DayZ. You will die easily, just like in real life.There you go, heed my rules and you should suvive long enough to not bitch about it here again! green-K- 101 Posted July 28, 2012 I disagree on the airfield point. I went with 1 other mate there and we could already loot twice the complete airfield. I was equipped with a DMR and i gave him my MP5SD (he only had an AK74 Kobra and a FAL). We just went on a less populated server with like 4 other player and went carefully from loot spawn to loot spawn. We only met once another guy on our second tour, but after a short fire fight and him shouting friendly he gave up and left the field. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
FuzzyPooka 20 Posted July 28, 2012 Stick to towns around the coast, getting food and civilian weapons, stockpiling ammo. Careful not to be too close to the spawns, as mew players often have nothing to lose, and will charge with the weakest of weapons. Watch videos by SideStrafe.
