Another thread about the problems since latest update

So I've been lurking around these forums for a while now but haven't had any need to post until now.

Basically since the latest update I haven't been able to play the game. To start with I was just getting the loading screen which would never end (leaving it up to 15 minutes at one point). Since then I've been getting kicked from the game messages and bad version messages.

Before people pointing out the obvious answers, I've been reading other threads on here of a similar nature and have done the following with no success:

Updated Arma

Verified files in Steam for both games (right click, program files, ect.)

Downloaded and installed the Arma beta update (got the link from another thread posted within the last 12 hours)

Updated any updates which come up when opening up Six Launcher

Please please can someone just give me a walk through of how to get back online? I'm not a real computer wizz and so lack the knowledge to just play about with the files. I fear that if I do this myself I may cause more damage then good.

I really want to get back online and seeing that there are people playing is really frustrating.

I look forward to getting some help.

Are you making 100% sure the servers you are trying to join are updated themselves?

This will usually cause the problem you experiencing. Just check the server name.. such and such (version 1.7.etc / Beta etc)

I've lost track of the amount of servers I've tried to sign in on. White names, grey names, .4 versions, .3 versions. Recruit to Expert servers. No matter what type it either tells me I've been kicked or it's bad.

It's very frustrating when I see that others are online in the list. What am I doing wrong or haven't done right?

Did you run both arma 2 and its expansion afterwards you had verified the files?

That worked for me when i had a similar problem

Yes I have restarted both Arma and the expansion but with no luck.

This is really getting annoying now. As for Systemik, would you care to be a little more specific? Obviously there is a lot of information covered on those few pages but to someone who isn't up on what various numbers and jargon mean it's all like another language to me.

If it's possible, is there any kind of step by step guide I can follow to just fix this damn problem? Obviously there are a good number of people who have gotten around this.

This is getting so F-ing frustrating. What is it that I am doing wrong, or not doing right ? !
