Amazing start!

After 4 days of surviving on my last character, i finally died. I thought that i would be searching for weapons and supplies for hours. But i had quite a good start. I started at one of the spawns and instead of running across the coast like i usually do, i decided to run over a hill. I spotted a fire station and ran straight into it. I found an AKM (i think that's what it's called) and a nice amount of ammo. Within 5 minutes i found a town and looted the supermarket for binoculars, a watch, an ALICE pack, and some food and water.

When i found a cafe, i walked upstairs and to my horror, i found a dead player. This instantly made me think to get out of the town ASAP, but i had not searched any of the other buildings yet. Determined to find items but worried at the same time, i slowly moved into each building expecting to get a clip emptied into my face. I went back to the supermarket to double check if i had missed anything. As soon as i looked out the back of the supermarket.... Another dead body. It was now time for me to leave this town, seeing as it was the luckiest start i have had while playing this game!

And this is why we all just love playing DayZ :D

I really like the spawning and initial fear of being unarmed, but still being drawn to danger, just because you need to.

One of my favorite things to do with fresh spawns is to make sure it's on a night time server. I use my flashlight to find some flares and just light up a town like Cherno, Elektro or even Berezino. It screams to other players, "HERE I AM!" and adds another whole level of excitement and danger. I love it!

Plus, you know, you can see.

The scariest thing about finding those dead bodies was that each of them had a gun on them, yet i heard no shots at all while in the town. Maybe a lone assassin with a silenced weapon was stalking them. I'll never know, and to be honest, i would not have wanted to find out :P

Allthough before I used to go out on the hunt for bandits.

Killing an overgeared bandit sniping spawners with an axe allways makes me smile :D

that was your best start? :P my most amazing start was spawning near Balota, finding it completely untouched (a rarity usually, especially on a Daytime server) and finding a map, when maps were rare, a gps, a box of matches when matches were rare, a M9SD with 4 mags, a M14AIMPoint with 3 mags and a Coyote Backpack, and a can of Beans to get me to Cherno so I could loot the Supermarket, where I proceeded to find 4 water bottles, 8 cans of food, 6 sodas, a hunting knife, compass, watch, binoculars, and a camping tent. I literally jumped for joy. Of course finding a Hatchet, the last item I needed almost proved my undoing. This is when zombies broke legs like every other swing, and they broke mine, and I had to crawl my way from the one side of cherno to the other to get to the hospital, I did make it tho, through pure luck and got my hands on some Morphine Auto-Injectors and I never left home without em again. :thumbsup:

well I eventually did die like I day later, I had no clue how to handle good equipment, I didn't even fire the M14, it's like I had this fear of having good weapons. My greed overtook me and I headed into Elecktro and sure enough I saw flares everywhere like someone lit the town up like a christmas tree. Out of Morbid curiosity I headed for the two hottest spots, the firestations, and found a PDW, which I thought at the time was a good trade for the M9SD, and still is, as long as you have SD mags. One firestation down. The flares are dying down, I hear shooting at the Supermarket, so I figure it's now or never for the powerplant fire station, so I book it. Crouch-run inside and stop dead as I see a chemlight inside, which due to the design of the building I couldn't see till the very last minute, and as soon as I see it and start to look left, I see a huddled shadow in the corner and several flashes, and I hit the ground dead. I think my heart stopped that entire time, 4 seconds felt like an eternity. I felt a kind of sadness at losing that gear I had been so unnaturally blessed with. But then a smile crept up my face again as I looked forward to finding even better gear in the next life, and maybe even firing my gun, who knows? <_<

That is a crazy way to die haha! The strangest way i've died is when i was in some kind of building. Searched the hell out of it, found a winchester with one clip. Seeing as i thought the area was free from any players, i shot a few zombies. Doing that was what caused my unfortunate demise. A guy comes running round the corner. I luckily got the first shot off and killed him. When i went outside past a room, at the last second, i see someone in the window with their double barrel pointed at my head. It was too late for me to react and my brains splattered across the floor. The guy i killed must have been his friend....
