Cant take meat from animal

Ive noticed anew bug today in that after killing 4 animals i was unable to take the meat? Eventually with 2 of them, through persistence in constantly wandering around the animals & pointing at them I eventually got the gear icon with the circle but with 2 of them I just gave up.

Fix?

You have to sodomize the animal first now, tenderizes the meat. Its a new feature in the last patch to add more realism. Go towards the back side of the animal and use your mouse wheel for the Sodomy option. Then you can get meat.

If you hit escape and then continue i find it fixes it.

Did you have a hunting knife and gut the animal? You could run around in a big circle and kill off the farm animals with no hunting knife, you cant loot anything.

If not go back to town and find a knife and try again

Yea I can gut the animal & it says there like 6 steaks on the thing I just dont get the icon to pick them up.

You have to find the exact sweet spot to be able to loot the animal. Walk around it and try from different directions and move your view around until you find it, it can be quite tricky to find but it's possible.

Same for me - walking all around the animal looking for the sweet spot just doesn't work. Laying down, crawling all around it...everything. It simply won't let me loot the gutted animal.

This has since worked ok for me on another server.

Im wondering if it some sort of 'lag' issue as when I was having the issue it did eventually give me the option but only after persisting & trying for 2 minutes or so?

Server is fine - I'm admin on it and double checked.

Seems to just be some sort of bug. To date, I'm unable to loot anything other than cows and rabbits for meat and thats if the animal doesn't vanish when I get to it (whilst its still alive).
