KField86 237 Posted July 28, 2012 Maybe I'm being daft, but this is a term I've heard brought up by a popular youtuber/streamer/dayz player who goes by the name DevilDogGamer. Him and his squad often refer to hearing "Player music" and then alerting everyone that a player is in the area. Does the music in game change when a player is nearby? I never game with the music on anyway even though it's really cool & creepy, I just prefer hearing faint footsteps 20m away which save my life more times than not over some cliche horror music, regardless of how well it fits the games niche. But is this true? These guys are very knowledgeable when it comes to the game. Or I wonder if I'm mistaking this for something entirely different. Either way, can anyone elaborate on this, or if they've even heard of the term being used? I tend to just use zombie spawns as a sign a player is near, so I don't see why I'd want to have music on to let me know a player is close even if I did have it activated in-game. Brudagon (DayZ) 64 Posted July 28, 2012 I'm not aware of it, but I also have had my music off for the past 2 weeks.
NoRegrets 495 Posted July 28, 2012 I've deactivated the music and i dont think there is a connection between music and a player nearby ... and if then its far away from being as helpful as zombie spawns ... and i saw some of these videos aswell and my impression as a viewer is that these guys play on a low populated server with the admin in their teamspeak channel ... in a group of 10 people fearing some players that might cross their way and identfying them by "player music" ... i mean ... what in the actual fuck? ... they might be knowledgeable but i feel like they are a bunch of retards kissing devildogs ass whenever they can without noticing that he tells them what to do without actual doing anything by himself ... TheDesigner 1197 Posted July 28, 2012 I would say it's the heart beat you hear, or maybe the music just changes, idk.
