Waypoints I think work anyway...

But you realize that anyone with an in game map can see them?

Those are map-markers. Not waypoints. Only you can see your waypoint.

I think I was thinking of map notes.

But I'd bet waypoints are off on vet servers.

Incorrect, 99% of veteran servers have waypoints ON and only have them off if the admin forces it off

i have no clue how groups work in arma, its a mystery to me

notice how in the first 'lobby' everyone is on the blue team, but there's other empty teams. the group channel actually works in the lobby (or at least it did). but it seems it's disabled once DayZ starts up

yes, but in group chat, some people can see marks you put on the map, some people can't

if we all play on the same group, group chat would be just another side chat, no?

i suppose group chat is still there because rocket wants to use it for those upcomming teamplay mechanics <3

Waypoints depend on server settings. I'm using one now on a vet server.
