Hackers and Cheaters these days...

Just seems like more and more, I encounter hackers and cheaters on pretty much every server I go into.

Just yesterday, me and my group killed a pair of guys chilling at the Balota Airfield. Upon walking into the first hangar, lo and behold, there was a military green box on the ground with all sorts of tools and military grade weaponry with ammo. As we kept looking around, we found 2 more boxes around the same area, one of which was 15 meters away from where we killed the pair. When we had killed those two, we thought it was a little conspicuous that they were just sitting out in the open with Mk 48's to begin with, especially on a server that was around 30/40 population. If it were me, I would spend as little time as I could out in the open, lest someone come along and feel the need to kill.

But that's not even the best part, because after we had killed the pair of alleged hackers, we noticed they kept using the respawn button to (or we at least assumed) get a Balota spawn. So we sat and waited for a while thinking that we had pretty good positioning until one of our group members attracted 2 zeds. He of course had to sprint into a hangar, and dispatch the zeds as quickly as he could. BUT during that time, one of the hackers came back to the airfield fully equipped with another Mk 48, and killed my bud who had attracted the zeds. Upon his death, the hacker muttered, "That's what you get for shooting us down you f**king f**got b*tch." Maybe he had a stash somewhere nearby, but from my experience through this game finding 1 Mk 48 is a very time consuming process; having a second stashed away is just too unbelievable. Add into that our discovery of 3 military boxes which had Mk 48's inside of them as well as high end tools and gadgets, it's safe to conclude there was cheating occuring.

Now, there are 2 things wrong here that I have a huge problem with:

1) They cheated to get the gear. Cheating in a mod has to be possibly the most pathetic things you can do. Duplicating is one thing, because at least you have to find the weapon in order to use that exploit. I'm not condoning duplication either, but there are times when it accidentally happens and there's little to nothing you can do about it. But to downright add gear into the game because you're too cheap and lazy to put in the time to find your gear just ruins the integrity of what this mod is supposed to bring. You are supposed to struggle to survive.

2) They were poor sports about their own stupid decision making. It's no secret that dying sucks in this game, especially when you have a solid set of gear. I have had military grade loot on many lives previous, and I always try to make sure that I do everything I can to ensure I will survive (except alt+f4). Unfortunately, when you stand out in the open at Balota Airfield, you should expect someone else is going to be there to kill you. I'd like to make a reference to Charles Darwin for that one; good ol' natural selection. If you are stupid enough to stand out in the open with a target painted on your head that says, "shoot me" you kind of deserve it. But after you get killed, you not only hack all your gear back in, but call your killer a faggot after you kill him with a gun you spawned in. It not only shows that you can't play a game legitimately, but it also shows you have no responsibility, no respect, or any clue as to what you are doing.

What I don't understand is why can't people just play this game without cheating? If you want to cheat, go back to playing MW3. At least there your cheating will be competitive with all the rest of the Aimbotters and griefers. Have some respect for the community that is trying to play a mod based on aspects of realism. If you can't earn your way through this game by either being a good bandit, or being a good scavenger, then maybe this mod isn't for you. Don't ruin someone else's good time because you feel like you need to have the upper hand all the time.

I sure hope so. I'm tired of them. They might not have directly effected me, but I could imagine how my bud felt after he was on the receiving end of this.
