Joining servers with two computers, same network?

Hi, my brother and I bought two copies of Arma: combined ops. Patched it right and tried getting into a server together. I noticed that who ever joins second, gets stuck on the side-selection. Their name is 'grayed' out and can't choose 'Okay' to join the game. We can play on other servers just fine, just can't connect with each other on the same server.

Is this because you can't have two computers with the same IP's playing on the same server? Is there a known way around this?

We're using the amazon bought client, but thanks for the response. It led to some other threads that helped.
