Skod - US 588

Around 10:00 am EST my time a friend and I got on the server US 588 to continue our survival progress in Day Z. Shortly after we meet up around Three Valleys a player by the name Skod appears out of no where and says "You like my SUV" and proceeds to blow the SUV up in front of us. I was a little sketched out here so I shot and killed him (as it turns out he was a bandit anyway). When we went to go loot his corpse he only had GPS and a night vision sniper rifle, we thought this was a little odd but did not think anything of it. One minute after this incident he appears again out of nowhere behind us and kills us both with an M4. My friend logged off at this point, but I decide to continue playing and possibly try to recover some of our gear.

I spawned off a coast in the water and he appears next to me says a few things teleports to the coast and kills me again. He then proceeds to grief me for the next 2-3 spawns each time teleporting near my position and shooting me in the leg to leave my guy crippled and bleeding. There was also another player constantly dieing in game around this time, but i'm not sure if this guy was getting griefed as well.

Side question: Is the night vision sniper rifle even a legit item?
