Ease of file deletion compromising game integrity

Recommended Posts

Date/Time: July 27th, 3:08 PM EST.

What happened: Discovered that deleting building and forest files from the Arma 2: OA files would cause them to disappear in-game without hindering our ability to enter DayZ servers. This allowed for stupidly easy camp discovery, as well as ridiculous player killing as one could shoot through walls and see unimpaired over great distances due to the lack of physical obstructions.

Where you were: Elektro on an unkown server

What you were doing: Playing with a fellow alpha tester

*Current installed version: 1.7.2.3

*Server(s) you were on: Unkown

*Your system specs: Dell laptop, dual core 4g ram etc. etc. (unimportant)

*Timeline of events before/after error:

This has been fixed, I removed my files to test if people spawn a tent inside a tree where the tree goes the tent then people cannot get items in the tent, but people with the trees removed can access the tree. When I logged in, I was kicked. So... no need to test if this works :). Thanks rocket :)
