How to read the script.txt / What to do

So, the script.txt for my server is bloated beyond belief with essentially 4 guys getting logged by battleye over and over and over.

My question is, can anyone tell me from this snipet what these guys were doing exactly and if I should ban them. More importantly, how do I ban them. I've ran TF2, BF3, L4D1 and L4D2 servers before but I have never dealt with battleye and so far it hasn't been very noob friendly as far as accessing needed data and doing something about it.

These are messages from the hive. They are just respawning/logging into the server, when they do this, the server "adds" the items that the hive has registered that they had on last login, and this is what you are seing.

It does this for all players on login. If you server is active, your log should be full of this. I would post a snippet of mine, but my 001 editor license ran out, and its over 3 gigs lol.

Mine does not. I've checked all of my scripts.txt and these are the only four that get logged. Ever. According to this, scripts.txt only logs something when Battleye detects a script being ran by the client.

scripts.txt is a file used by battleye located in the same directory as bans.txt which allows battleye to check clients executing commands/bits of code that is being flagged by scripts.txt, it will then log it to scripts.log

And that is exactly what happens when someone joins a server. Each client runs a script that grants them the items that the hive recorded X person had. Thats the only way to add items to a character, this is why reading the logs can be very difficult because they are already filled with scripts being run by the client, in order to sync with the hive.

The "scripts" you see, are normal, no ones cheating here.

I am postive that you are wrong at this point. After reading literature from Battleye and DayZ (sources) I am pretty much certain you are talking about the SERVERCONSOLE.log and not the SCRIPTS.log. The Scripts log, according to both Battleye and DayZ, only logs script violations. These guys were apparently spawning ammo crates on my server. I thank you for your attempt to help but I am pretty sure your information is wrong.

Whatever you want to say. I've already had people PM me to verify these guys were spawning items. Only four people out of thousands that play on my server show up in the scripts.log, I find that odd. If, as you say, EVERYONE that plays on my server is on the scripts.log then why do we have thousands of unique players on the server over the course of a month yet only four guys appear in the log? What happened to the other people?

We also have the serverconsole that shows these guys never logged out. Not even once, while this stuff was being recorded. If, as you say, this was them connecting and reconnecting then why does the serverconsole show they never once logged off?

Use my cheatfinder util on the logs, it flags anything suspicious. http://dayzmod.com/f...ser-for-admins/

(I ran it on your snippets and they were clean)

All I know is the command 'DIE' and then the following lines

player addWeapon "Loot";

player addWeapon "Flare";

These are your starting items for when you respawn/die.

I ran it through one of our own log parsers too looking for actual scripts, and his snippets were clean too. I dont know if he ended up banning these guys, but i feel sorry for those innocent people if they did get banned.

The "gear loading script" is initiated everytime someone loads into the game, your server log wont show someone going to lobby, then loading back in. But the battleye log will show them reloading their gear. Your logs are clean, you should not be banning these guys.
