Key to a positive Day Z , and ArmA experience

First, this post is aimed at the new players , specifically those who purchased ArmA II for Day Z.

Step One.

Read this

Basically, it says learn to playing ArmA first. Then worry about being lost in the middle of zombie land.

Step Two.

Get the hell away from the coast.

You do not require a map or compass to do this. See the coast ? Walk in the opposite direction. Survival instantly becomes 5x easier .

Step Three

Don't aggravate zombies. This can be accomplished by crawling / crouch walking past them or avoiding them all together.

Step Four

If/Once you have failed step three, get zombies off your ass by either

A) Running into building then running out ( they cannot at this time run in buildings )

B) Running up hill into forest & zig zagging ( They'll start to fall behind )

C) Running into cover and going prone ( works most of the time )

D) Beating them to death with axe/crowbar/shooting with silenced weapon.

Step Five

Remember this is an ALPHA - Most games/mods aren't available to the public in this stage.

Step Six

Remember you purchased ARMA II / CO not Day Z.

By following this simple guide you are much more likely to have a positive experience from the game you just purchased.

Day Z is a mod. ArmA is a game.

An important thing is to find a buddy or group to play with. You can watch your backs.

The second thing is not to get mad when your trust gets abused.

Stay calm and try and keep searching. It's a game.

As Surveyor the "Don't trust anyone attitude" is not going to help you longtherm as long you are running around alone. You will get shot soon or later anyway.

As lonely Bandit you shoot everyone,always.

Gradan, that's absolutely true.

Having a team of survivors I play with has made the experience much MUCH more enjoyable.

It does take time to develop however, but once it's there... The possibilities are endless.
