Black Screen Crash

Recommended Posts

heya all,

ive started playing today and im offically thrilled except for random zombie spawns : D

Well, ive played 4 a couple of hours and everything worked out well. Then monitor suddenly goes to black screen. Nothing happened except for some sounds which seemed to be in loop...

So ive waited 30 mins and restarted pc and game.

Played another 2hours then crash to black screen again...

Before the second crash i was smart and started speedfan 2 let it run in background while playing. So after pc crashed 2 black screen again ive checked the log file which showed me that my graphic card was on 111° degrees. ( Temp was constantly raising)

Question is: Was the the temperature of my graphic card the reason 4 the black screen crash? Does that usually happen when card is 2 hot?

Btw yesterday i was playing the tutorial of the basic game 4 another couple of hours without any problems...

If the temp was indeed the cause, any ideas what i could do? Maybe set some certian graphic options down?

oh, and Im playing with an msi gtx470. Nvidia hp says max. heat for this card is 105°.

Also kill the overclocking on the card if you are doing it. Might try cleaning it as well.

Actually just give me system specs. It is hard to gauge what is going on without them.

Hmm card shouldn't be doing that. a 470 should be fine to play it on medium settings.

What resolution are you going at? Screen size etc.

Still turn off the post processing, shadows, etc.

Make sure all your case fans are free of debris, unobstructed. Take the old can-0 air to the GPU and get all the nooks dusted out.
