How can I prevent connection issues from my end?

So I'm walking out of town and get ambushed. I hit the deck, crawl around for a bit, and think i finally found my shooter. As I'm about to take my guessed shot, i get a red chain. I fire anyway, and then I start getting the no response received countdown.

So, is there anything I can do to reduce this happening? I get it somewhat frequently.

There is really only two things you can do in this situation.

1) Resolve your internet connectivity problems. (If none exist, you are left with option two).

2) Find another server.

The red chain appears when you have server connection problems, if it's not your internet with the problem then it's the server providing the connection.
