Change in Blood Levels, due to new Beta Patch.

Okay, so many people have noticed the new changes in weapon damage in the Beta Patchs for ArmA2. As many know, this makes many weapons in DayZ now either useless, or a big disappointment compared to what they used to be. Now, due to the massive nerf of the Lee Enfield, .45 ACP and 9mm rounds, I think players need a max blood decrease. Why? Because they were originally built on higher damage numbers. And now those numbers have changed. As it is, .308 (7.62x51mm NATO) rounds still do 8k damage- unchanged, and 5.56 go for slightly over 3k- unchanged. But the Lee has been cut by roughly 50%, and .45 ACP have taken a massive hit. 9mm rounds also need a little more to kill a player (from around 9 to nearly 13).

So I think player's blood needs to be tuned from 12,000 to 8500 (or 9,000, to round it out).

The reason for that is .308 rounds tend to kill players with 1-shot, either from headshots, upper chest or causing the player to bleed to death. Sometimes it takes 2, but not often. With this change, it still usually takes 1 round. Just remember the Lee used to kill in 1 round, and now it takes 2. People can't even bleed to death unless they are missing bandages. Even the poor .45 ACP sidearms don't even have enough rounds to kill a player.

How someone can take seven .45s to the chest and live is still amazing to me.

Yes, I shot a Zombie 7 Times in the chest and it didn't die. They're nearly as bad as a G17 or Makarov.

If blood was decreased, you'd better believe I'm only using an M16. Seriously, the ACOG version works with NVG and everything. It would be an automatic sniping shotgun.

Weapon balance is fucked all around and decreasing blood wouldn't fix that. Even more, we haven't heard from Rocket about it yet, so who knows what will happen? Either way, I can't imagine how only changing blood would be an acceptable solution. That's ass-backwards.

Why not just make zombies stronger to body damage? And make players as realistic as possible.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the weapon damage values to just be readjusted???

I want to use the .45 Revolver so bad, but putting 4 rounds in Lala's chest and 2 in his face.....then him shooting me changed my mind.

I'm sure as hell not cry'n. Nor am I posting endless duplicate threads about rolling back content, nerfing playstyles, nerfing actions, nerfing loot, nerfing weapons, or making changes that make the game more inline with whats already out there.

I'm simply telling the truth.

Damage values don't change in a mil sim that has been out for this long without intent. And they don't change only for the weapons that are the most common drops in DayZ, creating more of a tiered weapon class system that doesn't fit reality. As DayZ is there keeping the doors open I'm sure this update was focused on DayZ. Hell they even said 1.61 was BI's official endorsement of DayZ, so this is all about what they want who even knows if Rocket had a choice in the matter. All this bitch'n seems to have paid off so hopefully there will be enough people willing to bitch about the mod getting taken over by casual mass market cry babies after the next appeasment is rolled out.

I will play through the patch to see what its like, post my thoughts same as always. Hopefully it will make dealing with zombies harder but as far as I can tell headshots still kill in one shot.

The gun damage was changed for a reason. Making HP lower would just make the change obsolete.

I do agree that the change was a bit unneeded. Except for maybe the Enfield or M19 but the damage that it was reduced by is way to much.
