omgwtfbbq (DayZ) 1069 Posted July 27, 2012 (edited) so today, i decided to work toward the NWAF. on my way there, i come across a cow. cool! i have a hatchet, matches, and a hunting knife. so i find a tree, remember it, and put down my AK-74. i go axe the cow, get the food, and return to the tree to find that my gun is FUCKING MISSING. i remember exactly which tree i put it by, and i spent fifteen minutes wandering around the area to find it. i even rolled around to flatten down the grass. nothing. i literally had put my gun down for 30 seconds before it disappeared. did the server delete my gun? wtf happened!? snafuu (DayZ) 30 Posted July 27, 2012 Servers do seem to like eating rarer guns more often than common ones, and that's not just because you remember it more. I've only ever had servers selectively fail to save AS50s and SVDs and such. Whether I got the gun shortly before I left the server or quite a long time before, only the best guns have ever disappeared once I joined again. As for the AK, well, that's probably just geometry fucking you. At least you didn't drop it on an upper floor of a building because then it's bound to disappear.
