THE SUPPLY FAIRY 0 Posted May 23, 2012 This is an experiment. I haven't had a chance yet to see how this will affect how I play with friends, but my intention is to try and play the polar opposite of a bandit. If you see The Supply Fairy gathering supplies, you have a lot of choices. You can shoot him. He's probably got something you can use, even if he's fresh from the coast. You can rob him if you're feeling generous and don't want the blood on your hands.Or you could ask him what he's got. If you're in need and he has something big or small that would help, it's yours. He will ask politely that you not take something he needs to survive and keep going around helping people, but you don't have to listen. If you're feeling really generous, you can offer him supplies you have in excess or don't need in order to spread around.Heck, on a good day he might even tag along with you for a while and provide support. No matter what, when you encounter him he'll proceed to do the safety dance, respond "Friendly", and remain still in a salute as he introduces himself asks how he can help.TL : DR THERE IS A FRIENDLY SURVIVOR WHO LOOKS FOR SUPPLIES TO GIVE TO OTHER SURVIVORS. KILL HIM, ROB HIM, OR ASK FOR WHAT YOU NEED. NO MATTER WHAT, YOU'LL GET WHAT YOU WANT.

Legacy (DayZ) 1091 Posted May 23, 2012 I applaud your courage and efforts. I've found many survivors and given them any spare supplies I had (I hang on to tools like no tomorrow.)

Grey508 17 Posted May 23, 2012 Basically how I play, only I don't go looking for people to help. If I happen upon someone in need, I'll assist in any way I can. I've helped several survivors with their zombie trains, as well as given away plenty of beans and ammo. I've even directed new players to relatively safe supply locations.Anyway, good on ya for being a force of positivity during the apocalypse.
Wüstenfuchs (DayZ) 105 Posted May 23, 2012 It'll probably be just a matter of time when a bandit disguises himself as a supply fairy and shoots you in the face when you least expect it. ;)However, I like your idea of friendliness and have also given out supplies to strangers sometimes when they need it. Oh well. I guess I'll fine tune my surrendur protocol.Dropping supplies, backing away, and resuming saluting should work, don't you think?
S1ippery Jim 139 Posted May 23, 2012 I may have been visited by this Supply Fairy. I logged off with no food and only about 900 blood left, when I logged back in the next day (after the update) I had 12000 blood, and a can of beans in my inventory. WTF??!! Considering the annoying deaths from walls* and ladders in this game, finally a glitch that helps me out!*I once made it all the way to the NW airfield, sprinted across the tarmac to the fire station, killed off a good 50 zombies that chased me there, then when I got to the top of the stairs because the wall started doing me damage for no reason and broke my leg. I crawled out to one of the hangers but had no morphine so I died a miserable death when a zombie finally noticed me
