Took massive damage when trying to loot

What happened: I Went to loot a pile of items in a two tier orange house. As soon as my character knelt down, i went from ~11000 blood to -8976 blood and died. I was right next to a door way at the time, with two other players, no zombies around. I had an hour glass as if I was unconscious before I died, but only very briefly

*Timeline of events before/after error:Game was playing fine, once I died I re spawned at the coast and headed inland. No more errors for the few hours I played after.
