  1. 1. Start with a map ?

Recommended Posts

Hello, im new to this game and never know where i am, when my friends tell me where they are i have no idea how to get there. I no that it is possible to find a map, but i have not been able to find one just yet.

So i think it would be good if you started with a map when you spawn, what do you all think ?

Nah, maps are very easy to find in supermarkets (as are matches, compass and binoculars).

Yeah start with a map. That will help you read crylic and navigate by the stars/sun.

Yeah everyone should start with a map. It should show the real-time location of all survivors, tents, and vehicles. Ammo mags should stack to infinity in inventory. Also why don't we have the option to create classes or gain skillpoints yet?

No, we don't need a map. I know where to go even without map. BTW clouds are always coming from west, so you don't really need a compass either...

yea its pretty easy to alt tab for a map, or if you run the game/commander/six updater via steam, you can open the map in the steam overlay browser and just shift+tab for the map. If it werent so easy to get map access that way, maybe start with a map, but I would be more inclined to say compass. A survivor who packed a flashlight and bandage may would have a compass but not a map of the area so I could see the justification.

Just leave it as is.

I feel that navigating by the sun, stars and terrain features is quite fun actually :D And if you don't know how to do that, I think it could be a nice bit of fun to learn it. Nevermind the fact that if ever there was a true apocalypse, those skills could come in handy...they translate fairly well into real life.

Ofcourse I'm also the type of guy that tries to get from one city to another in FSX by dead reckoning B)
