govgeek 0 Posted July 26, 2012 Rather than trying to deal with non PvP zones for players to trade in, how about modifying the users inventory system to allow for two player trading? This would entail opening an inventory screen with two sides, where each player would place their proposed items for trade. There would be an "approve" option on both sides, so that both players agree to the trade which would then have the items switch sides, allow the users to move the newly traded items into their own inventory. This will allow for a more realistic trading scenario to play out, and if you want guarantees that you won't get shot after the trade, then you'll need to set up your own "protected" area (however you feel that would be accomplished), artificially changing the terrain to enforce non PvP would go against the social grain,This new menu system could also allow someone to operate like a store, possibly even requiring a form of currency with common exchange rates (e.g. bullets as a base currency). Another useful change would be the ability to create signs ("Trading post ahead, holster weapons or you will be shot!")Thoughts anyone?
GexAlmighty 54 Posted July 26, 2012 Trading wont be implimented untill a standalone if they do ever make it happen, that much as truth.Suggested too many times, this is the 5th or so thread in the last 3 days ive seen made about trading. please use the search function for future posts.Im not against casual trading, if two people are right next to eachother they should be able to view eachothers loot and trade with a system near enough exactly the same as the steam trading system, no safety bullshit, just two guys trading wherever they feel it is ok to do so
govgeek 0 Posted July 26, 2012 Trading wont be implimented untill a standalone if they do ever make it happen, that much as truth.I was asked to suggest this scenario based off a ticket for user feedback.Suggested too many times, this is the 5th or so thread in the last 3 days ive seen made about trading. please use the search function for future posts.I have searched, and most appear to focus on "safe" areas, thus the distinction in my post. If someone has duplicated my distinction, I apologize.Im not against casual trading, if two people are right next to eachother they should be able to view eachothers loot and trade with a system near enough exactly the same as the steam trading system, no safety bullshit, just two guys trading wherever they feel it is ok to do soAs am I, my suggestions would facilitate this procedure and behave almost exactly like a steam trade.
