Cannot use my crowbar

I just found a crowbar but I can't seem to attack with it. I resides in my primary weapons slot, but left clicking does nothing, scrolling the mouswheel also gives no options, and I dont see any targeting reticule. What am I doing wrong?

Press F to switch fire modes. If this works, you should see "hack 10000" in the top right of your screen. If you see "hack 0", press R to reload.

ok, now I have the targeting reticule and hack 0. Reload does not work and firing sounds like an empty gun

Edit: It works. I dropped it and picked it up. Thank you
