My First Axe Murder (get away from my lootz)

Last night I was in a small town to the north (on US #00) and I sprinted to the church and axed the zombies following me.

Then I looked around for loot. There was a Czech Backpack on the ground but I couldn't pick it up because of other loot around it.

So while I was moving the trash I noticed another player walking around the church with just a crowbar.

He comes straight up to the loot pile I'm at and is digging around in the stuff I'm already trying to loot.

I'm all for being friendly and I don't like to kill unarmed people. If he had just kept his distance I would have left him alone.

But I wanted that backpack and rather than let him take it before I could, I hit him in the head with my axe.

I felt kind of bad, but honestly, he shouldn't have gotten that close to someone. Especially someone with a better weapon.

The lesson here is , if you want to be friendly, keep your distance.

If you get too close to me I'm going to assume you're trying to take somethiong from my backpack or you're trying to take the loot that I got to first.

Honestly the axe is my favorite thing that has happened in recent patches.

That said I too had a guilty axe murder. I was in one of the buildings I call 'schools' (gray, 3 stories, lots of small rooms) and I see a guy crowching on the 2nd floor ledge with a lee. I think "bandit sniper" so I sneak up and axe him... while he bled I ran around to the other side and axed him again before he could shoot. I felt like a champion... then I see he had absolutely zero ammo for this lee and pistol. No clue why he was up there in a "I'm waiting all day long to snipe somebody" position but it was a murder, not a bandit kill.

One day, i asked an unarmed guy to have some bandages.

He was into a gas station office, so i talked him.

He made the mistake to pickup the hatchet.

I shoot him on the face, and get the bandages.

Another day, i just spawned, found an hatchet, same scenario...

Bleeding, no bandage, i found a guy and immediately hatchet him, for gettin bandaged.

It's funny that now I only kill for fun.
