Those filled with the life force of their murdered victims should gravitate towards zombies.

Seriously, it's what happens in many good zombie / infection movies.

People turn into monsters, and at some point, it's hard to tell whether they are infected or just monsters.

oh and I would love to be able to turn into a zombie (small percent chance) after being hit by one. Like get infected, have your vision altered, start moving faster, loose ability to use weapons, inventory, get strong melee attack. It would just be awesome and add a whole new dynamic to the game.

Until the zombies actually become the main threat/point in the game, players will keep killing players for easy/fast access to more shiny.

Thats not the problem.

The problem is that there just isn't much to do.
