Character stuck in downed state

my character died yesterday and today when i tried to go on a server it was on a downed state with 500 blood and so i tried to respawn but i couldent open the esc menu so i waited for 2+ hours for the hourglass to go down and it went only about 1/10th down maybe less. anyone know whats the problem?

i have got the same problem stuck with this damn hourglass on every server i try to play on. im stuck at 93.05 blood.

EDIT: Seems to be good for me now all i did was sit there for awhile and either a zombie or player killed me on the ground.
