so i found my first helicopter crash site

get to da choppa! got some sweet weapons there but I'm afraid i'm gonna drop them soon as the ammo probably spawns at heli crash sites only (I got the normal FN FAL and a Bizon SD)

what I'm wondering is... are heli crash sites on each server fixed, or do they vary? I know they are randomly generated, but I was curious wether they disappeared on a certain server or stayed there. and how many loot piles do they have? dayz wiki says 6 - I've only managed to find 4 in the grass... does stuff fall far from the choppa?

There's a fairly accurate map of the majority of helicopter crash sites in the game. I'm dubious about some; I have never ever ever ever seen a downed helicopter INSIDE the northwest airfield. There are a fixed number of crashes per server - something like three or four - and they're randomized on every server you enter. They should rearrange on restart and be in different locations. As for loot - well, that's just a crapshoot; I've been told that the loot only spawns once at each crash site. So once all of the gear is taken from one site, it won't spawn new loot until the server restarts, and obviously at a different location.

Me and a buddy of mine actually found one today, we got really really lucky yea. But it was on the Northwest side of the Northwest Airfield as ironic as it seems. Anyways it can happen.

I actually have seen one on the airfield so i can confirm they do spawn there but of course at the time it was a 50 pop server and i swear you could hear the flies from ages away that many people got killed going for it haha. But yea 4 spawn points from experience and they can spawn anywhere out side a forest or city BUT my friend did find one INSIDE a building in cherno once, glitched to hell but yea.

So: locations change at every restart, there should be 4 loot piles, and stuff only spawns once. Thanks a lot for the info... I guess I won't be noting the serve and location down then :D
