oled123@hotmail.co.uk 66 Posted July 26, 2012 I'm aware of the calculation of 1.8*1000/height in mildots but if you know anything you would know that for the AS50 the mildots are wrong so my question is, is there another calculation especially for the AS50? #BASEDGOD 27 Posted July 26, 2012 Shoot once, see where bullet hit, make adjustments, Fire again. With the alt+f4 faggotry this is not an option.Go into the editor or the armory and shoot stuff.
dendron 4 Posted July 26, 2012 I wish there was some tutorial for every sniper in DayZ and how to successfully "range finding".I am using M24, and got pretty decent with it but when I had M107 it was totally different thing because of "two-zooms", also from my testing on different servers DMR center zeroing can be both 300 and 400 which is also big thing when you want to be accurate.Sniping in DayZ is hard on veteran servers. :D/me being noob and don't know how to get to "armory/editor" and test stuff. Bacon Surfboard 61 Posted July 26, 2012 (edited) If you want a cheat sheet to get used to it then just alt tab and look at the DayZDB map. The squares are 1km square and you can accurately range find from those without any effort.EDIT: Sniping really is easy in DayZ, the bullet time is fair, the droppage is fair and completely countered by insta-zeroing (I snipe and would prefer an 8 second delay for zeroing myself). It's just that the guns are different. One tip - under zero if in doubt and aim for the top of the head - far better a bullet drops into your target's knees/lower stomach than over zerod and shooting over your target and missing. And it's not that it is hard process or time consuming, it is that I have no idea how to effectively do that and I can't find any resources to learn how to.At this moment I have M24 and I always play on Veteran servers without built-in range finder, it's kinda hardish to guess how far my target is.P.S.Your proposition to use DayzDB map is clever but I would like to be able to estimate range in-game, just gotta figure out how mildots work or what is "formula" for it. :)
