Zombies should not use military flanking tactics

Recommended Posts

Zombies in every single conception of them in fiction are more or less mindless, so they run straight at their prey. This is how their pathing should be in a zombie game. Too easy? Well that's a different issue, and their numbers/stats/whatever can be adjusted to balance it

Unfortunately this isn't a zombie game, it's a military simulator with a zombie mod. The AI pathing is hard coded and pretty much acted like this since OFP.

The game engine that ARMA 2 is running on is what is "hard coded", meaning that it literally cannot be changed without remaking the entire engine or a significant portion of it. The mod does nothing to this architecture and frankly can't change much at all. The zombies are simply soldiers that have no guns and are dressed like civilians in terms of "coding" in the game.

The zombies are going to run around very silly-like for pretty much the end of time unless there is some incredibly heavy scripting in the mission, which probably won't do much anyways.
