Hello,

I've just started playing DayZ, and after 5 or 6 attempts, I have finally survived over an hour. I have a gun ( finally! ) and a bit of food and ammo. I came across a barn, and inside broke my leg. I have no morphine, and from what I know, my leg will not heal over time ( I could be wrong. ) I need help! And I am also looking for a buddy, or buddies, to play this with because I'm getting lonely haha. I prefer steam for contact, and my steam name is AquaZebra. or PM me on here :)

When you spawn is the hardest part imo. Try to find food and drinks, then leave the coast because its probably been looted.

Try to find a weapon that has common ammo like a Winchester. A fire axe also does wonders, just make sure you make headshots with it.

Never go to places that has military loot because it will be camped by snipers that just want to kill random people because they got picked on in school if you know what i mean. Also avoid big cities.

if you spawn near cherno go to the Construction building on the East side, this is the RIGHT of the city if you're on the beach facing the city. you can usually get enough gear in their to survive a while

then sneak back out and check

DEER STANDS!!. yes. Deer stands are the easiest and safest way to get Military loot. half the time you can even get in and out while the Zombies are walking away from the stand and have their backs to you, thus not agroing.
