Day for some night for others

How come that SOME players see a FULL night and others see daytime on the same server??

It's pitch black for me but my team mates say it's only dusk and others say the sun is only starting to set..

I'm aware that some servers like the NY (new york) servers will have players enter the game in daytime even if it is night time. Giving them a chance to get their bearings in the game before it goes dark for them in about 20 minutes. However some players will abuse this and constantly reconnect when the game goes dark for them. Giving them a massive edge.
