BE error message only when I logon from different location

Recommended Posts

Hi wondering if anyone can help me with this problem -

Downloaded and installed the game from my steam account at my son's house - got hooked and played happily with him all day. Went home with my laptop and logged on...get kicked from server for BE non response.

Returned to son's house next day...logged on there and all was well again. Came back to mine and same error - spent 2 days uninstalling, reinstalling, undating and reading posts on the forums to try solve this problem.

So does anyone know why I can play at my sons house (he has own steam account and copies of the game on his pc) on my laptop but when I plug in at my home can't get on?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

If u are able to play on your laptop @ your son's house, but when u go home it doesnt work.

Then its really can only be a router issue ( or maybe different windows firewall settings when u r connected @ son's house ?), double check you get your ports opened up.

Or u could try & forward the ports aswell them if routers nat is abit flakey... ( i swear its almost impossible to find a router that does work 99% )

The link describes settings for the port forwarding to run servers... changed mine to the settings described but still the same problems... really struggling here :(

Thank you for the suggestion though... the logic was excellent :)

OK...got the solution to the above problem and will post here in case anyone else gets this. My thanks to Torndeco for getting me to pay some attention to the router which turned out to be the problem - really appreciate the response and am carrying a can of beans in my backpack to give to you when we meet in game:)

First I logged into Netgear service page and updated firmware to latest version

Spoke to support at ISP (Orange) and they had experienced problems with COD 4/5 months ago. My default channel selection on router was 'auto' when it needed to be channel 11 (may be different for other routers/ISP).

Reboot router and away I went - a very happy bunny.

GL to all experiencing trouble getting a clear run at Dayz - and thanks to the users/admins here who take the time to make this site so helpful.
