blockhead (DayZ) 4 Posted May 22, 2012 asking this here, as I had this rifle but never fired it until after the new patch, so don't if this expected or not.anyway... i was sat in the tree line on a hillside, no zombies in the immediate surroundings.Lined up my scope on a zombie way, wayyyyyyyyy off in the distance next to a barn, fired, missed and the shot landed right next to him.I still had my scope on him and I thought, no probs he's too far off to worry about...I was bloody surprised that within a split second of the shot landing, the zombie and any others around the barn were now heading at full speed towards me.Is it just the case that the rifle is too damn noisy and it'll happen anyway, or should it be safe to fire the CZ550 at distance and remain undetected? Tummynator 1 Posted May 22, 2012 You should probably be at least 50-85 meters from zombies .... and dont forget to zero in your scope :D
i wub pugs 16 Posted May 22, 2012 I gave up on shooting zombies with rifles when 40 of them ate me in Krasnostav after I fired an Enfield at one.Sit in a house with a 1911 or Revolver and shoot them as they come up the stairs.Barn + Winchester is fun too. drewmaw 56 Posted May 22, 2012 Yeah, I was wondering the same thing...I'd like to get Rocket give us an actually "meter radius" with which each gun alerts zombies.I feel like I was scoping at over 200-300 meters, and still alerted zombies at that distance.... bullocks.
