Connection Problems

Ive heard from a bunch of people that there are a lot of connection problems. I am getting the game today and Ive been playing Arma II: Free and i can rarely get into a game. Is this the game or something with my computer?

The problem that people are experiencing is related to the unexpected popularity of the mod. There aren't enough servers for everyone. The other problem is that the existing servers can sometimes not process all requests from people that join, wait only a few seconds and immediately disconnect if it's not working right away. This puts a lot of strain on the servers to process all the requests.

If you join a server be prepared to wait a couple of minutes (up to 10) to get in the game, if you end up at the "debug forest" (all your requests to the server timed out) try returning to the lobby and signing in or connecting to another server. You should definitely bring a bit of patience with you ;).

Your computer doesn't have anything to do with this (at least most likely not). However you might experience bad performance if you're pc is a bit underpowered to handle arma 2, but it shouldn't keep you from joining a server. Your internet connection and network setup would have a higher influence than your pc for that matter.
