Problems with Hosting a Server

My friends and I have been wanting to have our own DayZ server to play on. There are only 3 of us total. We watched this video on how to setup a server:

We were able to log onto the server but we encountered several problems. For one thing the joining was undependable, sometimes we could get on, sometimes not. Most of the time when we tried to join we would download the mission file and then it would just take us to the stats screen. The ping reading said it was 2500 even though when we were connected we had absolutely no lag. Also my friend who was hosting the server kept getting a scene where it looked as though he was underwater.

We really want to be able to play on our own server. Can anyone help us please!?!

Please can anyone help? We know that home computers aren't supposed to be able to host servers, but since its only three people it should work just fine. If no one knows whats going on here, please just tell us how to set a server up, or direct us to somewhere that will tell us how to set it up.

Requires no additional mods, as long as all of you have the pbo file in your MPMission directory you can run a Listen server and all play together.

Its enough like DayZ to be entertaining and doesn't require all the ridiculous work arounds trying to run a local DayZ server requires.

We'll try it if we can't get any help with this, thanks though. Also I just wanted to say we promise we're not going to use this to cheat by gathering tons of stuff there and using it on other servers. We've just had so much trouble getting on other servers that we really just want to do it ourselves.
