Useful Gear to play with, like mics, mice and skype etc.

Recommended Posts

Would anyone like to share advice on kit like joysticks, mice, mics, those things where you turn your head and it turns in game so you can see better? I'll start the ball rolling.

I keep hearing about skype but I haven't used it since it was being alpha tested and was free and buggy. Does anyone have it and recommend it? What about costs?

Anyone recommend a good mic? Mine's a basic creative labs, HS450 but I wouldn't recommend it. The volume's far too low. Hard to hear stuff even at top volume.

As far as I know, skype is still free as long as you connect with other people using skype. It isn't very buggy from my experience either but it's really only good for small conversations (6-8 people max). If you plan on hosting a clan, you'd be best to invest in a vent/teamspeak server.

Thanks. Just trying to learn about what people think is necessary and might be useful as a newbie. :)
