Alright, so I was thinking that you should be able to use Raw meat from animals as bait for the zeds. I think it would come in handy when looting highly populated areas.

1. obtain smoke grenade

2. throw smoke grenade in general area of a few zombies

3. watch them run towards the grenade.

4. Done.

smoke grenades provide decent cover, but I use them almost exclusively for zombie distractions. They're not flawless, zombies have to actually see the grenade and if they're glitched or stuck they might not. That's more a problem with the zombie AI than the grenades, though.
