Blurry fonts everywhere [FIXED]

Recommended Posts

* I am running ArmA2 Free + ArmA2:OA, both from Steam.

* I am running the latest beta patch (95310.)

* I am launching the game through a desktop shortcut exactly as per Kodabars "How to install DayZ" blog post.

* My problem is that the fonts are really blurry. With smaller-than-huge-ass UI sizes, I can't read the text in the server browser or debug monitor or just about anywhere else. I have the same render resolution as screen size, and the rest of the game is sharp. It seems to be just the text suffering from this.

* My PC is an old-but-decent machine. with a Core 2 Duo CPU clocked at 1.86 GHz, 2 GiB of RAM, and a Radeon HD 4480-something graphics card with 512 MiB of RAM. (I'm a little unsure about the exact model number of the graphics card.)

* My operating system is Windows 7 Professional.

I have tried Googling for the problem, but I couldn't find anything other than "the whole game is blurry and I fixed it by setting both resolutions properly." Is this a problem with a known solution? Does anybody have any pointer on how I can go about troubleshooting it?

Edit: So the solution that worked for me is really simple and described by marin550 in this post.

Try changing the 3D resolution to be the same as the other resolution value, that should sort it.

Exit the game and run CCC(Catalyst Control Center) go to 3D applications and put Mip Map to Quality or Hight Quality.

As I stated in my post, I had already tried that.

Exit the game and run CCC(Catalyst Control Center) go to 3D applications and put Mip Map to Quality or Hight Quality.

This fixed it! Thanks a bunch, mate.
