Ropers101 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Hi I bought Arma 2 Combined Operations yesterday as I want to play DAYZ and everything went well with using Six updater ect and installing the game but I am having HUGE problems with actually playing as I can either have really bad graphics and kind of move or I can have better visuals and not move for ages and I'm glitching all over the shot, I have been reading up and I have tried altering the video settings ect to suit and It doesn't seem to be working whatsoever and the help on the Internet doesn't seem to be working so I was wondering if anybody else was having any of these Issues and I was thinking it could just be my computer? But here are my computer specs from what I could gather.reccomended screen res : 1920x1080Graphics card : Intel® Graphics media accelerator HD (Core I3)Total capacity graphics memory : 1755 MBDedicated video memory : 128 MBSystem Video Memory : 0MBShared system memory : 1627 MBProcessor : Intel® Core i3 CPU 540 : 3.07GHz 3.07 GHzInstalled memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.68 GB usuable)System type 64bit operating systemI hope this can help as I really want to play DAYZ as it looks AMAZING!!! mt roger 13 Posted July 25, 2012 Not a computer you want to play Dayz on. Processor is meh and your graphics card is junk. I know it sucks to hear. Keep your chin up and strive for a better computer.
Exlibris 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Your graphics adaptor does not meet the minimum requirements for this game. Full stop. If you are running a desktop, look at getting a video card (everyone will have an opinion on which one is better), specifically something from the newer generations of NVidia or AMD/ATI. adamtheheretic 106 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) People have already told you it doesn't meet the requirements... So I wont but here... 4chan optimized video settings, increase FPS and FOV Edited July 25, 2012 by FishIsTwonk
Ropers101 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Ok thanks guys so I am now looking at upgrading my graphics card and processor does anybody have any recomendations ?
John69 64 Posted July 25, 2012 You are trying to run arma 2 (dayz) on Integrated graphics, or onboard graphics, not recommended, and Integrated graphics does NOT meet the minimum requirements for this game either. Upgrade youre graphics and you might be able to run this game on a lower resolution. For ARMA2 to run smooth you will need a fairly modern quadcore cpu and some dedicated graphic card along with it.No need even trying to run the game with youre current setup. Ropers101 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Ok thanks you very much I am going to get on the case of getting the new graphics card and the quadcore cpu does anybody recommend anything in particular?
John69 64 Posted July 25, 2012 Ok thanks you very much I am going to get on the case of getting the new graphics card and the quadcore cpu does anybody recommend anything in particular?Buy the best hardware you can afford, You have a 1156 socket Intel motherboard, getting a used i5 750 (quadcore)(starting from 50 bucks on ebay) cpu and a desent graphic card should not cost that much, if you want to keep youre current setup and only upgrade youre cpu + graphic card. A used GTX460(starting from 50-60 bucks on ebay) and you be rocking in the lower res up to 1600x900.Why not AMD? im no fanboy, i only know that Arma runs better on Intel+ nividia for the most part, not offending any AMD users here. Also when upgrading, make sure youre power can handle the new hardware, you will need a quality + 450/500w power for the part im listing. Ropers101 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Ok thanks for the info but as I am not too good with computers I was wondering because I have a HD accelerator I heard that this isn't really a graphics card and that my motherboard might not have a slot for another card the motherboard is a MSI 2A9C so will I need another motherboard or not?
John69 64 Posted July 25, 2012 I think the MSI 2a9c is a Msi motherboard used for prebuild computers made by HP, so i guess you have a HP computer. And yes you can put a Graphic card on that motherboard, it has a free x16 pci express slot. But next problem if upgrading is youre Power or PSU, i dont think thats strong enuff to power up a GTX 460, or simular graphics cards. Ropers101 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Yes It is a HP Pavilion Slimline S5000 and that is good news and bad news as I am planning on getting a powercolor HD 4850 1GB GDDR5 graphics card as it is a very good price with Core : 625MHzMemory : 900MHzAnd I am also planning on getting either a Intel I5 or I7 Quad core as you can also get these at a decent price but I am not quite sure how to find out the power I am currently using or how to find out how much I can use Thanks for the help so far!!!! cruelntention 8 Posted July 25, 2012 more bad news...you might want to make sure that video card is a low profile card, if the word slimline really means what it means, in this case a skinny tower, and a regular full height card won't fit unless u get a 90* pcie adapter which then you'll have problems with the input slots on the case.. also if it is a low profile chassis, make sure the psu will fit in the system...or i guess you could always have it outside the case but something i wouldn't recommend doing. Ropers101 0 Posted July 25, 2012 Oh dear .......... this is not working out for me what so ever I think I might just leave it and accept that I have lost out on some money ):
John69 64 Posted July 26, 2012 Not all hope is lost, you can buy one of this : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102958The HD 6670 is a low profile graphics card who will fit in youre case, the performance is around 5-10 % worse than the HD 4850, but its still a valid card for Arma 2 and Dayz at lower resolutions like 1280x1024The HD 6670 also draw much less power than the HD 4850.
