NightRipper 284 Posted July 25, 2012 Okay, so after respawning on the coast yesterday and running about 4 clicks, something occurred to me: Why are my hunger and thirst levels depleting just as fast as when I was fully kitted out?! Now, before you all jump on me, I know that it works like that in dayZ right now, but seriously, this needs to be tweaked! Let me explain:If I spawn on the coast with a tiny coyote pack and four items on me, movement should consume less food and water. Here's why this is such a good idea: It introduces a new level of tactical strategy into the game:- New spawns would have a better shot at making it North without having to hit up Cherno or other major cities in order to get food and water, reducing the incentive for Bandits to camp these cities in order to PvP.- Make it work both ways, too: If you're lugging that huge AS50 around, for example, you should have to eat and drink more often! Got a coyote backpack filled up with items? Make sure you have plenty of food and water on you, because it's going to run down your hunger/thirst levels a lot quicker. This trade off would force people to think more carefully about what they carry, and add a level of realism into the game.TL;DR? There should be a gear weight system in place that directly affects your rate of food/water consumption.
exciniscineris 32 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) Good idea, but i think it should also affect your run speed. I would say if your carrying around an as50 you shouldn't be able to run as fast as when you have an mp5( I think there's something like this already in game but its bearly noticeable).
