adamtheheretic 106 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) So... I was at the airfield yesterday, I had my M24 aimed at the windows of the barracks only to have one ghillie wearing survivor and a regular clothed survivor to bop their head up and down across them. So, I waited for them to leave the building but I didn't know how long it'd be and I'm not the most patient sniper. I see the survivor stop... BANG! It looks like a hit, but no blood, no noise just he drops... I think he's dead as someone died at the same time but no murder added so I'm skeptical... His ghillie wearing friend runs out 30 seconds later, BANG! He's dropped as soon as he's turned out the door. I had to put more shots into the one outside but he did die... The one inside I heard eating but I could only have hit him in the head so I don't know if I got a hit or he just went prone instantly after I shot. So that was a pointless little story...tl;drCan you kill through the barrack's windows? Edited July 25, 2012 by FishIsTwonk

Syra 7 Posted July 25, 2012 I'm pretty sure you can, I've had friends die infront of my eyes that way.C'mon kids, don't stand in windows!
The L!ne 31 Posted July 25, 2012 the glass is absorbing quite some damage, so you can hit him and he survived. but I got killed through the windows myself ;)
adamtheheretic 106 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) I like that it can happen but even a Makarov can kill in one headshot, an M24 headshot through glass should be an insta-kill... Right? Edited July 25, 2012 by FishIsTwonk
andris.orinskis@gmail.com 26 Posted July 25, 2012 I might be wrong, but for me it looks like bullet changes trajectory after it penetrates a glass, and it loses a LOT of power
adamtheheretic 106 Posted July 25, 2012 I suggest this being changed, namely because... well windows don't do that...
xarok777@gmail.com 205 Posted July 25, 2012 I suggest this being changed, namely because... well windows don't do that... Because you know what glass they have in the windows... of a military barracks.
Agrocr0c 23 Posted July 25, 2012 I watched a documentary on sniper missions, and one of them explored the change in trajectory of a bullet hitting and passing through glass. After experimentation, the trajectory was shown to change slightly - the bullet is forced downwards by a few degrees.

adamtheheretic 106 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) Because you know what glass they have in the windows... of a military barracks. In russia? No...But if it's bulletproof glass, it would stop the bullet. It certainly wouldn't let the bullet through it'd probably completely break first, which would require an insane amount of bullets even from a high powered weapon as well as shattering... which the glass does not do. Edit:There is also Home-Made Bulletproof Glass. Although you can't really tell, the person who posted it said it still didn't penetrate. It's an 5.56 penetrating tracer round, the M24 shoots a 7.62 but it is home-made and it is a penetrating round... Edited July 25, 2012 by FishIsTwonk
