Where do I start looking for camps?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm new to Day Z and very recently came across multiple threads saying that people stash items on the edges of the map. So yesterday I decided it was a good idea to run the ENTIRE outer edge of the map to look for people's stashed items (those high tier items look awesome). Did I find anything? Nope.

It ended up being a big waste of time and I was wondering. Where are the most common camp places? Do people place them OUTSIDE of map bounds (no foliage)? Was I just unlucky in my findings?

Thanks,

Sinnwin

Well you missed the thread that said people who place there tents outside of the map will have it wiped.. So people stopped doing that and all previous placed tents were removed.

I would say do a full circle near stary sober of about 1000 m diameter and if you don't find a tent by then you aren't doing something right.

Some people are to lazy or just don't care, and place there tents in fairly easy to find spots, on top of hills in castles, stuff like that. The problem is the loot is usually found and taken by then.

Finding the loot will probably do you no good as you'll just die and lose it if your new to the game. I suggest learning to find it through spawn spots or hunting those players with high tier kit if that's your thing, sure keep moving around those outskirts and if you find a tent then that's a bonus, using this as a means to get high tier loot doesn't, seem like a good tactic as your just relying on luck.

Tent-placers are idiots, just look near Stary or NW, I find 6-7 there DAILY. On each server.

Seriously people. You need lessons in colors or something because it is so obvious.

I have some "basic loot spots" to get my starting gear.

Good places to start looking for your items are:

- Airstrip west of Cherno

- Basically all around Elektro (big city, but not hard to survive without weapons, unlike Cherno)

You'll pretty much get at least a few guns and some medical supplies along the way, maybe some nice tools as well.

If you are in our server then everywhere in cherno right in the fire house out on the street and all full of stuff for spawners :D

well the only problem: elektro is way better for pk-er to sniüe, cause it is more clearly arranged... so athough in elektro you need to be carefull

wtf? did you do this on purpose? why? its ruining the immersion...
