Removing Heartbeat

Recommended Posts

Imo its just a short range audible 'hand/spacebar' scanning, not sure how a character can panic without seeing or even knowing about another player or getting the drop on someone (who made the effort to conceal themselves in good cover) while sprinting through a forest because their heartbeat went nuts even though they were paying zero attention.

Possible fixes:

- Only get an audible warning if you have a good clean line of sight. (not AI 'see one pixel' through a bush and get perfect 'eyes on')

- Put a 3 second delay on the activation of the heartbeat sound (no LOS is needed)... ie a full 3 seconds has to pass while pointing at player direction before sound is played, if direction is lost the 3 second counter is reset (so you can't just pick up someone by fluke while sprinting through the forest etc etc)

Or combine both.... would like to hear others thoughts.

edit could this moved to 'suggestions' please mod :)

I've not really noticed it, but then I don't hunt players as a rule.

For me, get rid of it.

For me usually have a heart beat even though i dont hunt players just for the reason of people being bad shots and having to kill them, i think it should be taken out and direct chat range should be increased because you can usually figure if they are a bandit or not just by talking to them and the heart beat is misleading but of course this is just imo

I've never heard this and I play with friends. What is heartbeat?

If you're murder a few people you will 'panic' other players when they point at you're direction upto 20m I think, weather through objects or not making their heart beat loudly and rapidly.
