War Z are you having a laugh?

Recommended Posts

WarZ is nothing like DayZ, just saying like.

And from what I just read it's more p!sh MMO happy clappy bollo@ks! Not interest it it because (i reckon):

  • You will have a magic bag that can hold 50 items
  • You will have fast transit travel(very realistic)
  • You will have a number of WOW players caliming its not as good as WOW was back in the day.
  • You will be able to level up (err puke...)
  • You WILL have to grind
  • Fu@king micro tranctions WILL be available (cant be arsed finding a shotgun i'll just buy one)
  • It's not DayZ

Never been a fan boy of anything but I'm gona put my faith in Rocket & co, keep playin DayZ and wait for Rockets inevitable stand alone master piece!

Anyone agree?

They've got to appeal to the masses. Look how much WoW has been dumbed down since it was released.

Profit needs nearly always outweigh gamer requirements.

Not really, I've said it many times before and I'll say it again, there is room for both these games. I agree that both games are not that much alike, only the main theme is really alike, but I disagree with most of your points.

I'll be playing War Z when it's out, but I'll also keep playing Day Z, why would it have to be one or the other?

Thats why it will suck, nothing good every comes from pandering to the masses. Every new Idea that was good in gaming was met with critisim from the masses.

My post is just pointing out that i'st not for me brother. Wanted to see how many DayZer agreed.

I'm also playing dark souls atm and have noticed that I have moved towards really hard games. would like to know if more people are moving this direction. AAA gameing has become a little stale for me.....

The difference between WarZ and DayZ: WarZ is going to be more fast paced and unrealistic where you can more down heaps or zombies with guns, DayZ is where you must save your ammo and stay quiet when alone.

you sound exactly like those folks who say that <insert MMO Title> is crap because its not WoW, but WoW is crap now because its not like it was 5 years ago....

I am with rocket on that topic:

“I think competition is a healthy thing, and their list of features is ambitious. I’m have been hoping that the gamer response to Day Z has made a few developers, and even a few publishers, raise their eyebrows and question what we consider absolute truths in the industry. Maybe this is the start of that, in that case it is a great thing.”

dont be a hater. lets be happy for the renaissance of the zombie apocalypse in popular culture instead.

EDiT: the great thing about DayZ is not some feature, or the zombies.. its rockets vision. His adamant commitment to the core concept is what makes this game so unique and ultimately enjoyable.

DayZ is great for it's immersion, even though WarZ aims for that. WarZ thinks immersion is about making a game ABOUT zombies.

For me, DayZ does a GREAT job in immersion, maybe accidentally?

I think you have that a bit wrong.

Profit only comes from meeting gamer requirements, it's just that the million "casual" (hate that word) gamers have different needs to the few thousand strong niche crowd, it's the same in every other industry.....

It's why new cars come with parking sensors and airbags and not nitros buttons and racing tyres.

Were TVs "dumbed down" when they invented the remote control? Don't you know hardcore TV users only use the buttons on the set itself!!!

Only thing it has is the 250 players a server, when ARMA 3 comes out and DayZ is able to boost its player per server numbers War Z will have no chance..

I also love the market, I suggested something similar with the guards that try to keep the zombies out, and it constantly moves as the army sets it up. Sounds pretty cool.... and its not a PVP disabled area, its just that guards shoot those who shoot... realistic XD.

e7,

I'm just a bit confused why people are comparing the games. Only thing that they seem to have in common is zombies.

As I said in my earler post it's not about hating, just wana find out if more people are sick of MMO formula and Triple A gloss?

I im pretty sick of games in general, they're not exciting enough after a short while.. DayZ have given me hope, it really gets to my nerves when i play. My pulse actually goes up to a higher level and I can stay prone in the grass for 20 minutes, or in the Supermarked because my paranoid mind think it hear footsteps.
