You have been kicked from the game - Playing with brother on same connection

Recommended Posts

My brother and I can join any two separate servers perfectly fine and everything works but if he joins a server I am currently connected to it just says "You have been kicked from the server". If he joins first and I join second I receive the error message. We updated our Six Launcher (automatic) and Arma 2 + Operation Arrowhead through steam.

We tried setting port values through steam for Arma 2 and OA through launch options but this had no effect.

Also tried just joining the same server in Arma 2 (not dayz) and it worked fine.

I think it may be due to us having the same IP address though I'm not sure... If anyone has some insight as to what we can try to resolve this I'd appreciate it.

Yes, we have separate copies of the game on separate computers and steam accounts

The only thing I see related at this point is our internet connection...

Before he had bought the game I downloaded the game onto his computer using my steam account and played some games through Six Launcher.. not sure if this may cause an issue?

I've encountered this same problem before, as I'm often running three systems playing DayZ from the one location.

You will need to go through and start up, then close ArmA 2, followed by ArmA 2: OA, and then Combined Ops through steam on each system, under the correct respective steam accounts (i.e. your account on your computer, your brother's account on his PC).

After doing this, start DayZ on both systems and attempt to join a server together.

This should solve the problem.

Tried doing what you said but we still run into the same issue... comes up with "You have been kicked from the game" as soon as he joins the same server as me

If it's only an error you receive in DayZ, then it's obviously a hive-related problem. I can't really give any more info than that, sorry.

Maybe your brother have to reinstall the game, if he didnt when you have copied your game on his computer. How you say this could be the issue.

What else what could help is reinstalling BattleEye. Or look up on his system about steam to maybe repair the game.

Try using DayZCommander instead. There has been some problems with Six updater lately. At least according to some of my clan members.

Step 1: Close steam, and launch it again as Adminstrator.

Step 2: Right click on Arma 2 in your steam library, then click on Properties, after that click on the Local Files tab, the click Verify integrity of game cache. Then wait for that to finish

Step 3: Repeat Step 2 but instead of Arma 2 Verify the Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead.

Step 4: After you have gotten that done, launch Arma 2, close it, then launch AO, then close it.

Step 5: Now launch Sixlauncher or whatever you use, and you should be able to connect!

If you get the message ""1 files failed to validate and will be reacquired""

Then steam found the problem and is fixing the file.
