Optimization with NVIDIA graphics card.

Hello, I recently came across DayZ and pick up a copy of ARMA 2 to start my enjoyment with this internet sensation. After a day of playing, I realized that My maximum FPS would be around 10 to 15 frames. (Using FRAPS to see my current framrate) I have s fairly built computer that should able to run this game around 60 frames, but notice my frames begin to dwindle at around 10 minutes of playtime after opening the game.

After talking to some friends and seeing some other forum post, there is problems when entering structures (Such as buildings) in the game. But after so long everywhere I go gets terrible frames.

So, after hearing that one of my one of my other friends is having the same problem, while also having a NVIDIA card, I have come to think that their may be optimization problems with DayZ and NVIDIA.

Can someone please tell me if they have the same problems, because I would really like to enjoy this game to it's full potential. If there is optimization problems, someone please say that they are working on a patch for it.

Nope I have an nvidia card and I average around 80 fps, highers outdoors and lower indoors but around 80 fps. There are some optimisations you can do to ARMA though so make sure you google - arma2 optimisations. I have already made a post about this so you could just search for that as well. Hope this helps.

Have had two nvidia cards since dayz release, gtx460 and gtx560ti and my mate has a gtx680, all with no dramas at maz settings with brilliant frames. Only machine in our group that struggles and has had to lower some settingsfor playability is an ati rig (sorry )

turn off Anti Aliasing and Post Processing

I too get 60fps with most modern games, but even with the above suggestion this game dips into the 30's. try not to worry too much about the number as long as you're not getting bad stuttering and such. even in the 30's the framerate is usually pretty 'smooth' for me

and play with the settings, cause some are counter-intuitive. changing shadows from normal to high actually increased my fps

OP how about you post your computer specs. and arma 2 settings before asking for assistance?

Small thing to add. One thing to try is different servers. Individual servers can adversely affect your frame rates. For instance, few days ago, I logged into a server and got... 6 frames per second (FRAPS). Que the raised eyebrow - Rig was an I7-4Ghz 12GB Win64Bit GTX580 SLI rig. I changed servers and fps went back to normal locked & steady 60 (I run with Adaptive Vsync).
