Why does this happen?

My friend was very injured at the NWAF. I went above him with all of the necessary medical supplies to heal him and turned my scroll wheel, but I did not get the option to apply and Epi-Pen or a Bandage ect. The supplies were in my main inventory. Why does this happen? Does anyone know how to fix this? He was certainly alive, and had 3000 blood.

I just run about 20 yds away then come back. If that doesn't work then I go into First Person > Hold zoom on body (Right Click) > Scroll Wheel...

That usually works, The entities in this game are like trying to have guys conversation with a female... Difficult but possible!
